Recently I have tried four BD players which have Netflix streaming capability. LG BD370, Samsung BD P-1600, Sony BDP N460, and LG BD 550. Earlier I also tried Roku HD player for netflix streaming. Except Roku, all the BD players I tried all use wired Ethernet, no wireless.

(I have wired Ethernet in my house so I don’t need wireless network.)

I could tell you guys: LG BD 550 is by far the best when it comes to Netflix streaming. I ended up returning all the others. BD550’s Fast forwarding, fast rewinding is just way faster than any other unit I tried. It is even faster than Roku! Among these units, Samsung BD P1600 is the slowest. Also BD 550 not only shows your movies in the netflix instant queue, it also gives you option to pick movie you may like, what you’ve recently watched (even after you removed it from your instant queue), new arrivals, etc. It’s just a perfect Netflix player. If you like Netflix’s GUI interface, then just don’t buy Sony N460! Sony…

Great bargain BD player, May 5, 2010

I am a hardcore geek and have also worked in the streaming video industry the past 4 years. So you may be surprised to hear that this is the first BD player I ever own. I’ve tested plenty of BD, DVD, streaming boxes, so I know all their strengths and weaknesses.

I waited till now because the early generation of BD players are underpowered (that’s why people complained about slow startup, slow to load BD, sluggish menu/UI, etc.). Knowing the performance of that generation, plus having tested the up-n-coming ones, I waited for something that is worth spending money on.

I almost bought the LG BD-390, but that was still too expensive. So I waited for the next gen after, which is the LG BD-5XX series. Since I have wired ethernet to where my entertainment console is, I pick the BD-550. Let me get this out of the way up front: This is my first Blue-Ray Disc player.

I’m very pleased with this LG BD550 product. I wanted a product that would (a) play Blu-Ray Discs, and (b) let me watch streaming movies/shows over the internet using my Netflix account. This does both.

I considered the higher-end BD570 but decided against it because I did not need the built-in wireless capability, so I got the BD550 which just has the ethernet port, but no wireless (and saved about doing so). I already had an Apple Airport Express behind the media stand for streaming music from iTunes to my stereo, and I was able to configure it as a simple wireless ethernet bridge, so in order to connect the BD550 to the internet all I had to do was connect an ethernet cable from the Airport Express to the BD550. Once that was done, everything internet related simply worked “out of the box”.

Blue-Ray audio/visual quality seems good to me.

The sony S570 is a great player. The fast load system is excellent and much faster than the older 300s models. The setup was easy (it walks you through each step) I use the wireless N router and the speeds are awesome. Seamless integration with our Netflix account and the ability to watch Youtube videos is a great addition to what the player can do. Great 1080p picture and good upconversion of dvds. Do not be afraid of this player. If you have a netflix account or would like to watch youtube videos on your TV- this is your player. Also on a side note- you have several other choices besides Netflix and youtube. You have Amazons video on demand service and several other free video services.

A fine replacement for my BDP-S300, March 7, 2010

First, a little background. I purchased a Sony BDP-S300 (one of the early Sony BD players) three years ago to use with my home-theatre setup. It was always a great player, just a basic machine with no frills. Not a lot of advanced features, but it always had superb picture quality and it played anything you could put in it.

Anyway, in mid-2009 I started looking for a new BD machine to replace the aging S300. The S300 had wonderful picture quality, no doubt about it, but it was becoming troublesome with long waits for load times, sometimes taking up to five minutes to start playing a Java-enabled Blu-ray disc (from cold power-on to disc main menu). In the process of “auditioning” new machines, I tried out a Samsung BD-P1600 and a Sony BDP-N460, both of which were returned to the store for one reason or another.

Good player but no DLNA support (yet), March 4, 2010

OK , got my S570 and tested everything I could. This is not a professional review since I’m not a pro.

-UNPACKING AND INSTALLING:

The box is very small, half the size of the 460 box. The player is also much smaller than the 460. The installation was a breeze because I basically removed my 460 and replaced it with the 570. I don’t need the wireless, just hooket it to my Ethernet switch and set a fixed IP address like I do on any device I have.

The eject button on the player is almost impossible to find. Bring the remote.

The activation of both Netflix and Amazon can be a real pain and I had to register both again.

I changed the following settings from the default:

.Audio Mix to OFF

.Gracenote to AUTO

.Network settings to manual IP address.

.SACD to DSD

.IP Noise Reduction to zero

As soon as I turned the player on, a firmware update came up and its now version 315…

This is the third network BDP I have set up and used, I recently reviewed the Samsung BD-P1590 – Blu-Ray disc player – upscaling – Netflix, Pandora against which (for similar money) this is a far superior machine. I also think the picture quality and upscaling for SD DVD’s in much better than the similar priced LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player

Outstanding Player in all Respects, March 13, 2010

I purchased this player primarily to have access to Netflix streaming video. The Netflix playback quality is outstanding, surpassing that of standard DVD. I must note, however, that I have a 12000 baud Internet connection from AT&T U-Verse. Lesser connection speeds will naturally mean a lesser quality picture.

Setup was very easy and the remote is simple to navigate.

Contrary to another reviewer who gave the unit only one star because of an alleged failure to remember playback position when the STOP button is depressed, pressing the stop button does memorize the stopped position allowing resumption of playback at the point where the disc was stopped (see user manual page 16), except for BD-J discs. The reviewer may have pressed the STOP button more than once which clears the memory.

With the addition of Netflix streaming, Panasonic is the clear leader in Blu-ray players, dollar for dollar.

My sole purpose for investigating Blu-Ray devices was to determine of they were better than the single function Roku media player for accessing Netflix streaming video content. I started fooling around with Netflix streaming video on my PC over a fairly fast DSL connection several months ago. Over that period the quality of the Netflix streaming product has improved considerably. It reached the point where I was watching enough content on my PC that I felt justified in moving it to my entertainment center.

I first checked out the various Roku products and decided that their top of the line HD player was what I wanted (the price differential between their top and bottom models was only ). reasonably good media/blue ray player for under , November 19, 2010

I got this at sears when it was , it will be on sale again, try walmart if amazon doesn’t lower price. It plays all my discs and most of my multimedia files. It will not play wmv files and doesn’t seem to like my AAC files (plays MP3’s okay), but will play H264/mov files if you rename them as .mp4, a common trick with these cheaper players. It powers my two external portable hd’s and will play one of my two pen drives, but not both. Its upscaling of 420p material from the usb side not as good as my WD or my PS3, but plays native 1080i/p files with very impressive results.

It does have the BD live function if you want to plug a pen drive into it since it needs external storage. It has limited internet options right now, who cares about accuweather? LG updates their firmware online and my other LG equipment has seen third party hacks that improve it so I look forward to when this is hacked to provide either Netflix, or better yet Playon support.

This Black Friday, Blu-ray player was on my agenda, I have a 46″ Samsung LCD HDTV with internet options. I did not want to go for internet enabled Blu-ray player to play netflix or Picasa or Youtube as I already have it in my TV. I wanted a best to the price and awesome quality Blu-ray player which has a brilliant blu-ray as well as DVD upscale conversion for HDTV resolution.

I bought this LG BD530 and Sony BDP-530 at the same time because Sony had the highest ranking in terms on voting on many sites including bestbuy,com. After connecting both players to my TV i used Bly-ray and it played very well on both player, I tried same Bluray disc on both player couple of times alternatively and could not see the difference. Bluray played brilliantly

Plays DivxHD, AVI, MKV directly from Blu Ray Disc & USB, November 15, 2010

I have used this Blu Ray player for more than a week and it plays the following without any issues directly from Blue Ray disc as well as DVD, CD and USB:

DivxHD (Divx HD 720p and 1080p profile that create files with Divx extension) NOTE: DivxHD Plus profile creating mkv files seems not working

AVI ( I haven’t tried all codecs but whatever I tried worked without any issues)

MKV

AVCHD

I was successfully able to play couple of 720p 4.35 GB mkv files with that’s encoded with H264 & DTS audio with subtitle without any issues. Subtitle worked perfectly fine.

Files with DTS audio plays flawless directly on TV speakers without requiring any additional DTS receiver.

Very responsive remote control.

Played lots of MKV files of size 8GB and greater with h264 and DTS audio from an external USB drive and they all played very well. Subtitles were supported and no jitter in playback.

5 Stars. Here’s why…, March 27, 2010

In considering what TV to buy my parents, I had the apparent choice between buying an led LCD or a plasma. I opted to get the led, but you wouldn’t really be wrong to go the other route. My parents just wanted any TV that was bigger than 50 inches while I, being somewhat of a techy, needed to find the best TV over 50 inches. Well, here you have what I would call the third best TV over 50 inches (the 8500 and 8000 models being better) at the time of this review. This is the first of Samsung’s new line of lcds to come out this year, and it narrowly beats out last years 6 and 7 series TVs by offering a better contrast ratio (4,000,000-1 vs. 3,000,000-1) for virtually the same price point. Otherwise, it’s pretty much identical after reviewing the specs. Newer is better though in this case also because of the firmware upgrades and other fine improvements in engineering and technology.

Amazing TV, but may be too big for my room, May 15, 2010

I went to a local electronics store to buy a 46″ LCD to replace the Samsung 46″ LCD I just broke and ended coming home with this. F ry s had it on sale for 1 5 0 0, so we decided to spend the extra 6 0 0 to buy this. I was torn about not buying the Samsung TV with the Internet functions (Netflix, Pandora, etc..) but we have the PS3, which makes up for it. We had to decide between the Samsung Models LN46C630, LN46C650, UN46C6300, UN46C6500, and this model UN55C6300. They were priced and 8 7 9, 1 0 3 9, 1 3 2 9, 1 4 9 9, and 1 4 9 9. We were only looking at Samsung because we have had only good experiences with Samsung until I accidently hit the LCD ( (Crack!!) Long story short we walked out with the 55″

Before purchasing this TV, please consider your room size. We are about 10ft away from the TV and this is about as close as you want to be. There is a big difference between a 46″ and 55″

Beautiful Picture Quality, Horrible Performance!, May 16, 2010

I bought the UN55C6300 and am extremely pleased with the picture quality. However right out of the box I noticed that the lips were not in sync, and also that the display was skipping frames very often.

I have a DVD player, Blu-ray player, and a Satellite HD Receiver (Dish Network) All hooked up, and all sources have the same problems. I’ve tried the HDMI input, Coaxial, Component, and Composite inputs. All result in laggy video and out of sync audio.

If I use the HDMI cable and the tv speakers, the audio is in sync. However with any external audio receiver it becomes evident right away that the video lags the audio by a lot (at least 120ms). Even if I turn “Game mode” on, the video still lags, just not as bad.

Even if I upgrade to an audio receiver that has a delay function to try to sync the two, that would not help because the time between the audio and video delay seems to vary a lot. In other words, without…

Spectacular TV for a great price!, October 20, 2010

I was a little leary of buying this because of other reviews on the net, from professional critics. However, none of them hold water. This is a fantastic HDTV, and the extra features with internet access make it perfect (pandora radio, even youtube). The picture is excellent from any angle, multiple inputs allow connections from any source. One thing that isn’t mentioned is that the set will turn itself off after four hours if there’s no input, that is set as a default. It was purchased for my elderly mom, and she loves it. Oh, and it’s only a couple inches thick, and so protrudes from the wall even less than a picture frame!

Not what I expected, November 2, 2010

I went throug 2 of these TVs and was dissapointed with both. The biggest issue for me was the flashlighting on all the corners especially the upper right. They were so bright that they dominated the screen. Dark room viewing was not possible with this tv because the bright spots would show up even more. I had the tv calibrated but it didn’t really help with the flashlighting. I will post pictures to show the bright spots that I am talking about. The overall picture is above average from straight on. Get about 20 degrees off center and you will see the picture start to look washed out. Go a little farther and the colors start to look weird. Another thing to watch out for is the screen coating. It does a good job reducing reflections but if any light hits it directly you will see a rainbow full on all the way across the screen. I bought black out curtains to take care of this but that just intensified the bright spots in the corners. I just couldn’t win. I own a TOSHIBA…

Really impressed with this tv, June 8, 2010

This tv has a great picture and lots of good features. Picture has many user settings for fine-tuning and calibrating (expert modes). Apps like vudu, etc are fast and helpful. Thin profile and lightweight are nice attractions.

Couple of my concerns before viewing were the 120hz and the glossy screen (glare). I’ve watched football, baseball, basketball and haven’t noticed any blurring at all. The screen does have some reflection but once the set is on you cannot see it at all. Picture is very bright and dynamic. Incredible blacks for an edge-lit. This picture and price would rival or beat any plasma or samsung.

Also very energy efficient. Great tv.

The Good:

*Vibrant colors–of which ancient, grunting, CRT-watching man could only dream.

*HD content is displayed so realistically I’ll quit my job and live under a bridge to watch TV all day.

*Even standard-def shows look quite good on this set, like super models only five or ten years past their prime.

*Black levels are significantly deeper than I would have expected based on all the online whinging about edge-lit LED screens (e.g., “Give me local dimming, or give me death!”).

*Supa-thin profile makes the compact fluorescent “flat” panels look McDonald’s chubby.

The Tolerable:

*Crowded buttons on the remote, which I hardly use in favor of the cable company’s universal (or maybe no more than planetary) remote. I’ll only pick up the Samsung remote on occasion to adjust advanced settings, but when I do, I often push an unintended button.

*Very slight edge-lit brightness on black borders. Much of what’s on TV will fill the screen,…

I’ve purchased two of these TVs from Amazon.com, and I’ve had to return them both due to problems. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I will not be purchasing another Samsung TV. Thankfully, Amazon’s service department was fantastic through the entire ordeal.

For the first TV, within the first few hours of use I noticed that the left side of the screen was darker than the right side, and that it was also flickering occasionally. I called Samsung tech support, and I was very unhappy with their service. First, when they asked for the model # of the TV, they asked me to confirm it several times because this particular model was not in their system. I realize this is a new model, but not having any record whatsoever of my particular TV model was not confidence inspiring. After walking through a series of troubleshooting steps, they tried to prematurely pin the source of the problem on my cable box. Amazing picture. Sound not so great as tiny speakers aim down from the bottom ridge of tv. I cant believe how thin the television is and how bright the picture is. It plays most everything I’ve thrown at it in perfect color and very little pixelation. No warm up time like Standard LED TVs and much easier to watch. I highly recommend this TV. If you’re going to buy an LCD television…make sure it is backlit with LEDs. Samsungs out-perform all the other brands.

This is an excellent TV, especially for the price point – beautiful, sharp colors, great viewing angle, very thin LED design, and light weight as compared to traditional LCDs. While I would generally prefer a larger screen, the space I bought it for – Armoire in a bedroom, would only accommodate 32in. This is a perfect size for a bedroom or smaller living space. I compared this TV against a leading brand 32in LED at a local store and while this LED was slightly thicker and heavier, the colors on the screen were much brighter and facial features much more defined than the competition – and best of all its less expensive. The design is very modern – sharp lines, thin LED. It states Silver Grey in the description, but the bezel and stand are glossy black. I like it so well, I just ordered another one on Amazon.com!

* Excellent HD picture quality

* Bright clear image

* High contrast (LED backlight)

* Good off axis viewing angle – the farther from direct 90 deg you go the lighter the image becomes as contrast drops off, but still watchable at large angles.

Con (ish)-

* Lower quality SD picture (Less than 720p is noticeably inferior to other sets)

* Sound from onboard speakers marginal

* Colors look artificial out of the box (Requires several tweaks to gain realism)

* Too much white in some areas (blooming) until you really knock back the backlight and white levels.

Overall impression – For the money, if you feed the LG a good signal (720p or better), and tweak the colors and white levels, it’s hard to beat the image quality.

I started by looking at everything in the stores. I ruled out Samsung because of the price even though I really like the quality of their image…

I got the tv yesterday. The picture is fantastic. The facial features of actors are extremely clear.

I used a digital optical connection and cable to connect the tv to my stereo. The stereo is just an 85 W sony a/v with two speakers.

When operated this way, the sound is as good as the picture.

The paper owner’s manual is a bit of a negative. A disc is included, but I haven’t tried that yet.

I would definitely recommend this tv.

Amazon had the lowest price and free shipping.

I added a video showing the VIZIO SV470M TV playing back some video games (PS3/PC) and Blu-Ray movies. Obviously, it’s not going to look exactly like you would see it in real life on a recorded video camera – and on top of that, a uploaded compressed internet video/low resolution; however, you should get a better idea of the smoothness and the size.

To be honest, when the brand name “Vizio” came to my mind before, I had a feeling it was more of a value brand than quality; however, I have a totally different view of them now after this TV. I’m impressed and more than satisfied with this TV compared to my Toshiba 40RV525R 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

47″ is quite a nice size. What a difference just 7″ makes. Movies and games feel way more thrilling than it ever did with the Toshiba 40″ HDTV…

I was able to purchase this LCD from Amazon for the price of 9.99 on Cyber Monday, I think that’s a great price, I saw several at my local Costco selling for 9.99 before instant rebate, with tax and green fee pushing it to 6.16, I would say Amazon is the best deal with no tax and free shipping. anyway, when I was at several Costco stores around the San Fernando valley, and compared all the available Vizio, I have to say the picture is very high def, and very sharp when watching it from 2 feet away. the further I move back, the sharper the screen looks, but comparing next to the LED or a LG LCD, it’s not as bright, and the contrast is not as dark, but then Costco has very bright ambience light in their warehouse, I usually watch TV in a lower light room. at another store, Avatar was shown, and the picture is just incredible, even sharper than the brocasted HD program. of course, the blue ray helped too. overall, I think it’s a great TV for the price, if it’s on sale again,…

My first time buying a VIZIO. Its pretty good once I hooked it up to my HD cable box. When I had it hooked to a regular cable box (without HD), the picture was bad and I thought it was the TV. But with the HD cable box, its very good. And for the price I paid, I am extremely happy.

This is the first LCD TV I’ve bought so I did a tone of research before finally settling on this unit.

Things I love about this TV:

-The backlight on this thing turns way up so you don’t have to worry about having dark scenes like in Interview with the vampire you can’t see. The wide viewing angle is also great.

-On the quick menu you can easily change the sound between Music and Cinema and I can actually hear the difference. Yes they are tv speakers not surround sound but for my studio apartment it is more then adequate.

-I noticed I was getting a little noise on the sound when I had the Clear Voice on but totally fixed it when I put the Auto Volume option on in the audio main menu.

I have been waiting patiently for a few years now to make the switch from my 480i Toshiba 32″ CRT to an HDTV. Thanks to a decent tax return I was finally able to join the Hi Def club. I live in a small apartment and already had a nice entertainment center which housed my aging Toshiba so I chose to stay with the 32″ screen format as anything larger would not fit. After doing weeks of research it came down to this LG or the Samsung LN32C350. I found the picture quality to be almost identical and the price was the same for both, 9.00. I chose the LG because I got 10% off with a online coupon and no tax and free shipping from another online retailer. I couldn’t be happier! This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Picture quality on this tv is excellent (it has an IPS panel), black levels are impressive, color is vibrant. And you can tweak the picture to your likeing with a ton of various options. Took me a while to get the picture quality just right for gaming, HD content and SD content. SD tv actually looks pretty good on this tv, suprisingly sharp picture quality on it. Though this being a LCD tv the picture isn’t crystal clear, in darker areas you can see some obvious blurring or trailing (but only if you really want to notice, and its not as bad as the latest Samsung), in brighter areas blurring is not noticeable at all (in Modern Warfare 2 for example darker wood textures you can see the blur when moving, on brighter wall textures there is no blur).

Speakers are decent, not going to blow you away with the sound but they aren’t complete crap either. Like the picture – sound also…

First off: We did not purchase this TV from Amazon, we purchased it at a local retail store, not for any other reason than the price (we paid a few hundred less than the current Amazon price)

My husband and I purchased this back in April, it was either this or the Phillips that they had set right beside it, it was really a hard choice as the Phillips was marked down to just a few hundred dollars, whilst this was just under six fifty. We are so very glad that we went with this model(42LD450). The video quality is quite good, blacks are black, and whites are white, back light is very bright, and video quality is amazing.

We almost took this back however: When we first plugged it in and turned it on, the only picture was a white screen with the Firmware version bouncing around, no menu would come up and it would not acknowledge anything had been connected. Sleek LG at bargain price!, November 24, 2010

It took me about three days to decide to pull the trigger on this TV after looking at written reviews on Amazon and even some video demos online. About four hours after receiving it and I haven’t left my room.

This TV is simply lovely so far. The setup was a bit confusing at first and the stand is not the best I’ve ever seen but the instructions for setting up the stand were adequate and I was able to get the TV up and running in about ten minutes (the first five of which I sat confused).

Really, the negatives on this purchase stopped after the setup and the stand. Besides the stand, this TV is just pretty. One of the first things that stood out to me was the fact that the screen is so sleek and does not reflect any glares at all. Also, I had read about a terrible viewing angle and I honestly watched this TV from the side with no difference in the picture at all. I purchased this TV to replace my 3-year old Samsung Series 3 32″ LCD TV in my master bedroom because I wanted a larger size TV now that prices have dropped a good bit (paid over ,400 for my 32″ a few years ago). I debated between this one and a 40″ Samsung for the same price, both were 60hz models, which is fine since I’m only using this for my DVR. Since I’ve seen a few older LGs before that had decent picture quality, I went with this one for it’s larger size with slighly better specs than the Samsung, although I’ve always preferred Samsung. I figured since this was a newer model than those I’ve seen, with better specs I couldn’t lose…. I was wrong!

I put this one on the wall where my old one was and my first night watching it I was quite disappointed! Although the picture is sharp and vibratant, it’s only that way if you are directly in front of it. First, let me clarify that the TV is, in fact, native 1080p. No question about it.

Second, the panel on this TV is made by Samsung, and the quality is excellent.

Third, TCL’s website has a find service center location search and it is quite extensive ..

Based on the two year warrantee, what I am seeing with my TV and Amazons excellent delivery, I’m giving this set a Best Buy rating ..

UPDATE 11/16/2010 .. this set is just plain excellent .. and Amazon service is top of the line .. my set developed a thin blue vertical line, I contacted Amazon, they picked up the set the next day and delivered a new set at the same time .. hard to beat that ..

I had not heard of the TCL brand before and did a little bit of research to find out that they’re a Chinese company that has manufactured products for domestic sales since the mid-80s. Now they are selling their products here. The concern with any unknown brand would be longevity – will the TV last past the warranty? I can’t comment on that, of course, because I’ve only had this TV for a few days. I can say that it was very easy to set up, and it produces a nice sharp picture. In addition to good HD streaming, it also produces a very nice image on the standard-definition channels. The sound from the speakers is a little flat, so if you care about high-quality sound, I would recommend connecting external speakers. At 40 inches, it’s a nice size for a smaller living area. An attachable stand is included. There is no hardware included for wall mounting. Great price , awesome HDTV !, August 21, 2010

Had to write a review for others like me who hadn’t heard of the brand and were skeptical. This TV rocks ! It has a 2 yr warranty and a beautiful picture. I bought one for my mom , because her old HDTV broke. I spent over 0 on a Samsung 32 inch about 2 years ago (bought through Amazon) , and man do I regret that because the price on TV’s dropped like crazy right after. This TV is just as good WITH MORE FEATURES than my Samsung. for the price you can’t beat it , I got it for 0 !

Ok so I ordered this tv yesterday on a lightning deal and had never herd of this brand. I was very worried what It would be when I opened the box but Fedex delivered it 30 minutes ago (less then 24 hours from my placed order to delivery) and it was packaged well looks just like every other lcd and the remote worked great! I had it out of the box and hooked up in about 10 minutes that’s including screwing in the base. There was no info on this tv when i ordered it so I hope this helps someone. It has plenty of connections including computer connections it has the standard wall mount holes, and from what i can tell in the first hour of owning it looks just as great and crisp as much more expensive flat screens. One thing I’m confused about is it says only 720p on Amazon but i have it hooked up with only component cables while waiting on my new cable box with hdmi hookups and the picture is already reading 1080i. so I’m thinking when the hdmi is hooked up it will be a full 1080p but do…

First poor review, November 28, 2010

The price seemed too good to be true when I ordered it, and in fact it was. The screw holes to attach the TV stand were drilled into the back, but the female machined metal parts were not installed, so the stand could not be attached. I tried to contact customer support and they had no idea what they were talking about. It’s a company they hire out- not iSymphony. Any way, they had me go to an auto parts store to try to buy new screws, because they said I needed bigger ones and weren’t authorized to send them to me. The new screws were about 4 times too wide, and no way that was going to work.

I hooked it up without the stand anyway to see if I’d opt for a replacement vs return. For the price, the picture looks pretty awesome, however this TV has one green dot/ dead pixel on the left side. Hopefully this TV is just uniquely bad. Since the picture is so nice, I decided to try to replace it.

I got in on the lighting deal on this… Had it next day shipped (I love Amazon Prime!) and set it up the day after I ordered it. Out of the box, based screwed on, and set up via HDMI in under 15 minutes. The biggest concern was the remote and the warranty. Keep reading to see how they weren’t an issue!

There are 4 screws that hold the base down. This can also be attached to a standard VESA wall mount. There are plenty of inputs as pictured. The VGA is very nice if you wanted to hook a laptop up to this. The side RCA and side HDMI is a nice addition for a TV at this price point. The menu interface is well done and actually a lot better than I’d expect for something at this price. The picture is nice and for the price, really you can’t go wrong!

Nice but went out in 3 months, October 2, 2010

I had been happy with the set. The picture quality is very good but not the best I’ve seen. I agree with other reviews it’s a bit soft for my taste but it works well in the room it’s in. I’m not a gamer or a big sports fan so I haven’t noticed any pixel lag. It does a very good job with HD content.

I wanted a monitor not an Internet appliance because I expected it to last many years. It’s hooked to an LG Blue Ray which is Internet capable and a TiVo.

It was delivered in July and on Oct 2 it refuses to power up. LG customer service was helpful on the phone but of course no service on the weekend as a matter of fact you can’t even schedule service on the weekend. And parts and labor warranty (2 years) does not include the charge for “diagnosing the problem”.

I gave it 3 stars because a single failure on an electronic device is not a big deal. I hope that after this repair it’s reliable. If not I’ll report back. I’m also curious how…

Soft image, pixel lag, September 27, 2010

I purchased this TV as an upgrade for a 3 year old 42″ LG LCD. It looked good in the store, however, when I got it home the picture looked quite soft. I fiddled around with the settings for quite awhile but couldn’t get the clarity that my current TV has. I also noticed that there was quite a bit of pixel lag, especially when gaming. Quite disappointing, but not unexpected at this price range, but I was hoping for some improvement of technologies over the last few years. In any case, this may be a good TV for those who don’t mind the soft image, but it didn’t meet my quality standards.

The LG product has exceeded beyond my expectations It took months to research, It was LG or Samsung I have more knowledge about the LG they have good products and fair prices, I own two LG dvd players one which I’ve owned for 4 year, I recently bought the Blue ray dvd player I love it along with the LG 47450 LCD I would say to those that are not interested in having the latest model however the best price I would say buy this one. I’m sure the newer models may have all newer features but you will pay more when this flat screen shows a good clear picture sound, and easy to set up. I wanted to get the New LED LCD. Sure it maybe better but I was looking for the price and the quality as well. When the prices go down I will consider the newest later. Over all LG is great for the pice and quality, I also own a LG moblie phone.

These cables are an excellent deal and meet all of the relevant specifications that will allow you to get maximum throughput from 1080p equipment.

Don’t believe those that claim all HDMI cables are the same. They are not all the same and those that claim they are have unfortunately been misled. While I am the last person to suggest going out and overpaying for an expensive retail brand, I would definitely recommend being a little careful not to use a cable that has the potential to degrade the picture on your new HD equipment. It is even more critical for PS3 gamers because of the deep color capabilities of PS3.

Fortunately for us, HDMI.org has made separating the good cables from the best cables very simple.

According to the HDMI website, Category 2 cables are required not only to guarantee 1080P FullHD but also for high refresh rates and deep color.

Excellent!, September 4, 2008

These cables worked great for me…I’m getting 1080p@24hz no problem. My setup is a Samsung 52″ LCD TV (LN52A650) and a Playstation 3. Save yourself a whole lot of money and don’t get ripped off buying “Monster” or any other overpriced HDMI cable. Order processing, USPS shipping, and receipt in Texas was lightling fast(7 days). Order 2 while you’re at it…someday you’ll need another one!

Excellent Choice and Value for Money, July 29, 2008

Ok so I am a girl and I am not much of a techie but I didn’t want to spend 0 on an HDMI cable. I came to Amazon and read a lot of the product reviews.

I first purchased the the HDMI cable from ClearAV, it was inexpesive and not the best product. It cost me a little over for the item and S&H. I tested it on my upconverting Panasonic DVD player on 1080i resolution on my 40″ 1080p Samsung LCD TV but it had poor signal quality and the cable was not an HDMI version 1.3. So when I played my DVDs the picture would go on and off and so would the sound and there was a flashing line on my screen. Then I thought maybe I need to get another cable but still was not willing to pay 0.
